Stepping Out to Fight Diabetes
Helwig Health and Diabetes Center colleagues can help you learn how to manage your diabetes to prevent complications of the disease and enable you to enjoy a healthy lifestyle. They'll teach you self-care skills in the areas of diet, exercise, medication administration, home blood sugar testing and prevention of diabetes complications. Our team of certified diabetes nurse educators and registered dietitians not only care about those with diabetes as part of their job, but also are committed to raising awareness by supporting the American Diabetes Association (ADA). In October, more than 30 Helwig colleagues participated in the ADA's Stepping Out to Fight Diabetes walk and raised more than $3,800. Ask your physician for a referral to Helwig or call 610-402-CARE for more information.
